PCOD Problem

PCOD stands for polycystic ovarian disease. Majorly it’s called a disease. But it is a condition in which immature follicles collect on the surface of the ovary. PCOD problem is caused by the defective process of ovulation that arises from a disturbance in the H-P-O (Hypothalamus- Pituitary- Ovarian) axis. Some factors that lead to a disturbed H-P-O axis are stress, irregular lifestyle, faculty diet, obesity, and heredity.
PCOD is increasingly common among young girls of the reproductive age group today. It is responsible for the increase in the number of infertile couples. Infertility is the inability to conceive within a year despite unprotected intercourse. In today’s lifestyle, approximately 50% of women suffer from defective ovulation whereas 30% have irregular and heavy bleeding.
Ayurvedic medicine and panchakarma procedures are generally used to treat PCOD problems. However, most the important way to deal with it is to correct one’s lifestyle by taking the right amount of food, exercising, resting, and most of all developing a positive attitude.

PCOD is hormonal imbalance & is characterized by changes in ovaries such that multiple follicles accumulate in the ovaries without ovulation.
In PCOD ovary fails to expel the matured eggs as a result multiple cysts are formed.

  1. Irregular menstrual pattern.
  2. Mild pain.
  3. Weight gain, Lethargy.
  4. Irregular Appetite.
  5. Constipation.
  6. Acne.
  7. Unwanted hair growth.
  8. Anxiety.
  9. Infertility.
