Paralysis Treatment

Paralysis treatment can be done with ayurvedic medicines and panchakarma treatment. It is called as Pakshaghat in Ayurveda. This is a Vata Dosha predominant disorder. In this, loss of muscle function for one or more muscles. It can be accompanied by sensory and motor loss also. Thus, It is basically nervous system problem rather than bodily. Death of particular brain cells leads to non function of concern muscles. This can be due to accidental trauma but mostly due to lack of blood supply out of clot on the blood vessel or rupture of blood vessel(brain hemorrhage). Diabetes, high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol make such situation vulnerable. 

Types of Paralysis

  1. Hemiplegia – paralysis of arm leg and trunk on one side of the body.
  2. Paraplegia – paralysis of legs or lower body.
  3. Quadriplegia – partial or total loss of use of all limbs and torso.
    In Paralysis, according to Ayurveda there is a Vata & Rakt dushti. If the paralyzed patient comes early for Ayurved treatment then he will completely cure. As the time passes, the muscle weakness increases. 

        ‘स्वेदनं स्नेहसंयुक्तं पक्षाघाते विरेचनम्’   चरक संहिता

Sarvang abhyangam(full body massage), Sarvang swedanam(Steam bath), Virechan panchkarma treatment are very useful to treat paralysis. Shashtishali pindswed gives tremendous results to increase the muscle strength. To increase the sensory and motor function Nasya panchkarma plays important role. For reliving depression shirodhara is useful in paralysis patient. Dashmul kwath and sesame oil respectively use for Niruha basti and Anuvasan basti. Basti panchkarma done for 21 days for paralysis gives excellent result. Ayurvedic medicines like ashwagandha, guggul kalpa, samir pannag, vatachintamani, etc used.
In short paralysis patient can not be treated without panchkarma treatment. As early as patient come for panchkarma treatment, he will get complete cure.
